Razer’s new Orochi V2 wireless gaming mouse with extremely long battery life

Razor’s new $69.99 Orochi V2 is a wireless gaming mouse that promises an extremely long battery life. It apparently lasts up to 950 hours on an AA battery when it’s in Bluetooth mode or when you use a 2.4GHz hyperspeed mode that can provide lower latency performance. Toggle its wireless switch.

Alternatively, you can use an AAA battery for a slightly lighter weight. Razer says you’ll get about a third of longevity this way compared to AA batteries. However, it is nice that either the size of the battery can power this mouse for many, many hours. The razer includes a USB-A dongle near the battery slots, which is accessible by lifting the mouse’s magnetically attached shell.

With good battery life is useful for any type of workload, but especially nice for the game, which was built for the Orochi V2. This mouse looks similar to the Razor Basilisk X Hyperspeed in some ways – another budget-friendly battery-powered mouse with two wireless modes.

The Orochi V2 has a textured scroll wheel, angular main mouse buttons that are slightly concave to keep your fingers steady in the game, and two toe buttons. It’s basically a smaller mouse than the Basilica X Hyperspeed, yet the Razr has created it to meet many grip styles, including claw, palm, and finger grip. It’s designed symmetrically, though it’s not malicious. Messy thumb rest and two thumb buttons provide right-handed gamers.

Speaking of specs, the Orochi V2 comes in matte black or white and weighs about 71 grams with an AA battery or 64 grams with an AAA battery. It has mechanical mouse switches with a 60-million click life and uses the razor’s 18K DPI 5G optical sensor. The underside of the mouse has PTFE fitted features that help it mount easily on the mousepad. Close to the scroll wheel, the Ro Rochi V2 has a DPI switcher to adjust the sensitivity. It has no LED, next to the power indicator next to the DPI-switching button.

Available on the Orochi V2 Razor in Black and Walmart. The white model is being sold on Dell Amazon, Best Buy, and Razor. If you want a different color or design, Razr is launching a site where you can create the Orochi V2 with a custom look, picking from over 100 different designs (according to the company). The cost of the customized model $89.99 — a $20 premium over the standard option.

The company has also released universal grip tape for your technology. It’s a $ 9.99 kit packed with various sizes of textured tape that you can stick a mouse, keyboard, controller, or anything else you want to add a little grip to. It is now available on Amazon.
