Samsung Electronics plans to expand Echo Box globally by 2030

Samsung has installed the Mobile Garbage Collection Eco Box at authorized service centers in 34 countries. Countries, where Samsung service centers use the Echo Box, include the US, Brazil, and Spain.

By 2030, the South Korean tech giant plans to expand and manufacture ‘mobile garbage collection boxes’ (Echo Boxes) globally in all 180 countries where Samsung products are sold.

Moreover, Samsung said the mobile phones collected in the Echo Box are separated and recycled into units of material such as battery raws in partnership with specialized companies certified by the respective countries.

Samsung Electronics Echo BoxConsumers can easily dispose of their Galaxy smartphones through the service center and participate in activities to improve the global environment through recycling.

Global CS Center VC at Samsung said: “We will maximize resource circulation by establishing a cooperative system with various recycling partners to expand recycling and minimize waste generation.”
