Last year, the Vietnamese factory once accounted for 60% of Samsung’s total smartphone production. Rising labor costs in Vietnam and a slowdown in the global consumer market are cited as the main reasons behind Samsung’s move.

Samsung Vietnam FactoryAccording to a previous report by Korean media ETnews, as early as the end of 2021, Samsung Electronics transferred some of its smartphone production lines in Vietnam to the Gumi factory in Gumi City, North Gyeongsang Province.

This is a special measure taken by its main factories in Vietnam and other countries after experiencing production setbacks due to the impact of the new crown epidemic.
