Samsung plans to ship 270 million smartphones in 2023: Report

This year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 flagship smartphones. By 2022, the company expects to ship 260 million Galaxy phones worldwide. Meanwhile, Samsung’s 2023 production plans for the Galaxy S23, Z Fold 5, and Flip 5 smartphones have reportedly been announced.

As per the smartphone production plan, Samsung is planning to produce 290 million units and ship 270 million units in 2023, an increase of 10 million units over the current year. Korean media outlet TheElec reviewed the production, which is also available in the video.

The leaked production schedule covers all future flagships including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The company is likely to produce 32.63 million units of the Galaxy S23 product line, out of its total plan of 10 million units for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Samsung 2023 One thing to note is that the above figures are from the production plan, not the shipment target. An earlier report revealed that the company is projected to ship 270 million Galaxy smartphones in 2023, while the recent one suggested production of 290 million units.

Moreover, the production plan for 2023 has been set at 290.68 million units, the numbers have come down drastically. During the same period last year, Samsung held an event and announced its plans, but this year’s production plan was 334.2 million units. Next year’s plan fell 13% to 290.68 million units.
