While Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 users had to wait for around a year to get the Google Assistant feature, the new Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, running Wear OS 3.5-based One UI Watch 4.5, have Google Assistant pre-installed.

The Galaxy Watch 5 series launched at the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 10. As soon as the wearables launched, the company started its pre-bookings that will start shipping on August 26.

Ahead of this, Google has shared the fix for Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro’s Google Assistant setup issue. This will help you easily set up Google Assistant on your brand-new wearable.

Setup Google Assistant on Galaxy Watch 5:

To set up Google Assistant on your new Watch 5 series, you first need to activate it on your Samsung or Android phone. You should also enable the “Hey, Google” function and turn on personal results.

However, if your Galaxy Watch 5 is still not setting up the Assistant function, Google is recommending you wait for at least 15 minutes after you have completed the setup process.

After waiting for 15 minutes or more, try setting up Google Assistant again on your watch, it should be activated now, says Google. This method has properly worked for a lot of Galaxy Watch 5 owners.

We hope that the company will soon fix the issue so that users won’t have to give their precious 15 minutes to set up Google Assistant on the Watch 5 or Watch 5 Pro.
