OPPO and Xiaomi will soon end support for 32-bit apps

OPPO and Xiaomi are planning to drop the support for 32-bit apps. The latest information coming from a Weibo channel hints that this change will gradually take place for the respective brand devices, starting from the 1st of July this year.

Both OPPO and Xiaomi are well-known players in the world of technology. The manufacturers have given some of the best products including OPPO Find X6 Pro and Xiaomi 13 Ultra to its consumers. Further, they keep on renovating their services to offer the best user experience.

In the latest edition, OPPO and Xiaomi have decided to end the support for 32-bit apps. A major reason behind this step is that both ColorOS and MIUI are now compatible with 64-bit apps and can effectively manage them on board.

For your information, a 32-bit app is software that runs in a 32-bit flat address space. It has a limit of 32-bit Windows 3.2GB of RAM. Consequently, this boundary does not allow consumers to utilize the entire physical memory space of 4GB.

Meanwhile, a 64-bit system enables its users to store up to 17 billion GB of RAM. Besides, it consumes less battery and runs more efficiently in comparison to the 32-bit structure. Thus, it is important to switch the process as per the compatibility needs.
