Airpods will not come with iPhone 12, confirms iOS 14.2 beta update

There are only a few days left in the release of the most awaited iPhones 2020 which are approaching their release and will be unveiled on October 13 as rumored. Earlier, many rumors were coming that Apple could eliminate Airpods and power adapter from the box. Apple now gave a hint confirming that it will not include the Airpods in the box of iPhone 12.

iOS 14.2 comes with a new RF Exposure menu that mentions only ‘headphones’ instead of ‘supplied headphones’. Apple did not mentioned such changes in the earlier version of the iOS update.

Going back to iOS 14 and other versions of iOS, the RF menu mentioned the following information:

To reduce exposure to RF energy, use a hands-free option, such as the built-in speakerphone, the supplied headphones, or other similar accessories.

And after the iOS 14.2 Beta update, there is a change in the wording as shown below:

To reduce exposure to RF energy, use a hands-free option, such as the built-in speakerphone, headphones, or other similar accessories.

On the basis of this information, we can assume that this year’s iPhones will come without the Airpods in the box.

The recently released Apple Watch Series 6 also excluded the power adapter from the box and just included the USB cable. So, we can also expect the new iPhones to come without a power adapter.

Apple claims that the elimination of the accessories will contribute towards protecting the environment and most of the consumers already have compatible chargers. Although Apple will provide a fast charger for iPhones which users can purchase separately.
