Apple to update its Vintage Products list by adding two of its old products

Apple is planning to add its two old products to its vintage and obsolete products list by October 31. These two products are the iPhone 5c and the mid-2014 version of the 15-inch MacBook Pro.

The vintage products were not eligible for repair in the past, but in 2018 Apple began to offer extended repairs for its selected vintage products. The service for both of these devices will be available depending upon the availability of their parts.

Apple introduced the iPhone 5c along with the iPhone 5s in September 2013 as a part of its iPhone 5 series. This iPhone was available in five colors which were Blue, Green, Yellow, and White with a price starting at $99 for the 16GB model.

What are Vintage Products?

Vintage products are those that have not been sold for more than 5 and less than 7 years ago. Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod, and Apple TV vintage products continue to receive hardware service from Apple service providers, including Apple Retail Stores, subject to availability of inventory, or as required by law.

What are Obsolete products?

Obsolete products are those whose sales were discontinued more than 7 years ago. Monster-branded Beats products are considered obsolete regardless of when they were purchased. Apple has discontinued all hardware service for obsolete products, with no exceptions. Service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products.
