First look at OxygenOS 11’s Always-on Display feature, UI changes, and more

Ahead of final Android 11 developer preview release, OnePlus now released a few teaser images of its Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 update on Weibo. The images shared by OnePlus confirms a “Major UI Change.”

You can check the upcoming features of the HydrogenOS 11 in the embedded tweet below, the OxygenOS 11 features should look almost identical.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau also offers first look at OxygenOS 11’s Always-on Display feature through a video on the Chinese micro-blogging website.

According to the post, the video gives a good look at the same and how the AOD has been implemented, along with clips of the design process. You can see the detailed image below.

Additionally, to reduce battery life drain, the number of active pixels at a time has been reduced with this implementation of AOD.

Another big change is dark mode, which will be improved in Android 11. OnePlus’s CEO also promised super-smooth performance, lightweight, and a ton of customizations with the new OxygenOS 11.
