Google ceases the sale of new domains

Google is now completely shutting down the sale of new domains in the market. Eventually, the manufacturer stopped selling the respective facility to both new and existing customers from September 07 and one can check updates on this matter via the official website.

Earlier this year, the US tech giant kept its word on the closure of Google Domains, selling the business to site builder – Squarespace. Following this shift, the company is now marking an end to the sale of new Google Domains.

It is worth mentioning that the tech maker didn’t inform users via email about this sudden action. Instead, one can notice this change while signing out or in incognito mode.

“Google no longer offers new domain registrations, but try Squarespace. On September 7, 2023, Squarespace acquired all domain registrations and related customer accounts from Google Domains. Customers and domains will be transitioned over the next few months.”

On the other hand, users can purchase new domains from Squarespace at $12 per year. Don’t worry as this change doesn’t impact existing users and they can still manage their domains. However, you just can not add any new domains to your portfolios.
