In the past, we’ve seen Google changing the icons of its mobile applications with new round shapes and bringing four-color scheme. Following this chain, Google now seems to planning to add another app to the latest icon list.
Recently, 9to5Google received an image from Google, which suggests that the company is working on a new Gmail logo design. The image is a engineering sketch with shape guidelines.

The image doesn’t specifically mention any app but it surely shows the huge ‘M’, symbolizing the Gmail app. However, the envelope is not presented with the icon anymore, which was there since 2004.
The shape includes the round corners and is uncolored but it’s likely to imply the same blue, green yellow, and red color system. Currently, Google has not updated the logo design of the Gmail app but we may see it very soon.
