This is not the first time that netizens have linked the new crown epidemic to 5G. In April last year, conspiracy theories linking the new crown epidemic to the launch of 5G technology spread quickly on platforms such as Facebook, Nextdoor, and Instagram.
According to foreign media reports at the time, although there is no scientific basis, many 5G base station towers in the UK were burned. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) also stated that “5G technology will not cause the new crown virus.”
