Some OnePlus 8 Pro early adopters are facing a green screen and black crush issues, as reported by some owners on the official OnePlus forums.

One user noticed a very green screen when the brightness is low. He made a comparison with the Galaxy Note 10+ and the difference is very noticeable on low brightness. He also tried different display modes (and 120 vs 60 Hz), but the result was the same.

In addition, the user with the issue tried to solve the problem with DC Dimming, but it didn’t work:

“I tried DC Dimming turning on: Utilities – OnePlus Laboratory – DC Dimming -> On, but a lot of colours were indeed not how they should be. Especially the ‘black crush’ in movies and WhatsApp colour was way off. I thought this was the solution, but it seems I gained new problems.”

Some of the OnePlus 8 Pro owners have already decided to return their defected units. They are not sure about the type of the issue, whether software or hardware issue.

We have seen a similar issue with Samsung’s Galaxy S20 Ultra. The device was facing a green tint display issue in low brightness. Samsung has already fixed the issue with a software fix.
