There had been news about the special edition OnePlus Nord, which was called OnePlus Nord SE, but this smartphone was later cut off. OnePlus Nord SE and its luxurious packaging indicated that this smartphone was originally intended to be produced in limited quantities.
OnePlus Nord SE’s packaging has multiple boxes that are packaged in a large package. This phone is shipped with an interesting-looking case and a carrying bag. Unlike other limited-edition smartphones made by OnePlus, OnePlus Nord SE does not come with any customized software.
Instead, the user must manually download a special wallpaper the QR code on the back. OnePlus never mentioned why it cancelled the OnePlus Nord SE when it was about to go public. It is very likely that it was cancelled to make way for the OnePlus 9 series.
Additionally, the OnePlus Nord is positioned as an affordable 5G smartphone. Launching a high-priced version would seem a bit redundant. OnePlus has released a number of theme versions of flagship phones, like the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition and the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition.
