Samsung and Apple will dominate smartphone market in 2021, followed by Chinese phone makers: Report

Samsung is already planning to capture the smartphone market by introducing a number of new devices. Also, the company is providing top-end features to the mid-range phones which are the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 to attract users.

According to the latest forecast of the market research firm, Strategy Analytics, Samsung is expected to become the top brand in the smartphone market this year despite the heavy competition from the Chinese phone makers.

The worldwide shipment of the smartphone this year is expected to increase 6.6% year on year to 1.38 billion units in 2021. While the market share of Samsung may remain at 20% which will be the same as the year earlier.

The top competitor of the South Korean tech giant, Apple will remain in the second position with the same market share of 16% which is the same as the last year. Huawei on the other hand won’t dominate much and will distribute its market share to the other Chinese manufacturers.

The third position in the smartphone market of this year will be taken by Xiaomi and will capture 13% of the market, followed by Vivo and Oppo with a market share of 11% and 10% respectively. The Chinese phone makers are highly capable of competing with Samsung while the South Korean tech giant is expected to bounce back with its latest A-series phones.

Further, the company is also working on the new generations of Galaxy Z Flip 2 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 which are expected to be launched in the second half of this year. Also, the company has confirmed that it will not launch any Note series phone this year that may have some impact on the sales.
