Samsung has officially announced that it is going to discontinue the update and compatibility support for its Video Library app after the Android 14 upgrade. It means the Galaxy devices that will run Android 14 or later software version will have to say goodbye to the Video Library application.
Samsung Video Library is a gallery app that’s exclusively designed for videos, it offers optimization features, with the help of which users can easily organize all the video content on their Galaxy smartphone in one single swoop. However, the app has a very low usage and activation rate and this is the main reason behind its suspension.
Samsung wants to focus on applications and platforms that offer better services and experiences for its users. Therefore, the app will no longer receive new features and services through updates and compatibility with new OS versions. But it will still work on the devices and OS versions that are compatible with it until the end of 2023.
In conclusion, Samsung will discontinue the Video Library App support in 2024, and the Galaxy devices that upgrade to Android 14 will not be able to run it.
