Verizon Galaxy S9 gets One UI 2.1
Verizon is now rolling out the major One UI 2.1 update for the Galaxy S9 series in the US. The software version of this update is G960USQU7ETG2 and G965USQU7ETG2 for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ respectively.

JULY 23, 2020:
Sprint will release a new software update to fix One UI 2.1 bug for the Galaxy Note 9
Sprint Galaxy Note 9 users are facing a serious screen lock issue after One UI 2.1 update. The Galaxy Note 9 users that installed version ETF3 may be unable to enter their security screen lock credentials immediately after power-up. The display appears to be zoomed out abnormally.
Sprint has confirmed that the company is working on a fix for this known issue. This issue will be fixed in the next available software release. The issue occurs only when the device had the following settings in place prior to installing ETF3:
-Screen resolution set to WQHD+
-Screen lock is ON (Pattern, PIN, Password)
-Secure startup is ON
To prevent this issue from recurring until a permanent fix is deployed, advise impacted user to either:
1. Avoid using a screen resolution of WQHD+ and select any other option.
2. Turn secure startup OFF.
Please attempt the following temporary workaround(s):
1. Perform a simulated battery pull:
-Start with the device powered ON
-Press and hold both Volume Down (-) and Power buttons until the device restarts (~10 seconds)
-The Lock Screen should return to normal resolution so that the device may be unlocked
-Follow preventative steps at the bottom of this document
2. Attempt to unlock using Find My Mobile:
-Navigate to https://findmymobile.samsung.com and log in with the Samsung account username and password attached to the device
-On the left sidebar menu, select the device to be unlocked
-After selecting the device, a panel will appear on the right side of the map window
-Select Unlock to unlock the device
-Follow preventative steps at the bottom of this document
- As a last resort, complete a factory data reset (removes all personal information) only if the user is positive they remember the Google credentials that were in use on the device.
-Start with the device powered OFF
-Press and hold the Volume UP and Power keys simultaneously for several seconds
-Release the buttons once Android Recovery Mode is visible
-Using the Volume keys to navigate, scroll to Wipe data/factory reset
-Press the Power key to commit the request
-The device should restart after several minutes into the setup wizard screen as if the device were new out-of-box
-Proceed with activation flow

Samsung has finally started rolling out the One UI 2.1 update for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ users. The latest update brings many useful features and the latest June 2020 security patch.
The software version G960NKSU3ETF4 and G965NKSU3ETF4 for Korean S9 and S9+ units and G960FXXU9ETF5 And G965FXXU9ETF5 for international Galaxy S9 and S9+ units respectively. The size of this update is more than 1110MB.

June 09, 2020:
Samsung has confirmed that the One UI 2.1 update is in development, and the company is planning to roll-out this update for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ sometime next week.
Samsung community moderator in South Korea confirmed that the Galaxy S9 and S9+ One UI 2.1 version is in progress with the goal of next week.
June 06, 2020:
According to a new report, Samsung is planning to roll out the One UI 2.1 to the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 sometime in mid-June.
A South Korean community moderator confirms the rollout is planned for the middle of June. The moderator says the One UI 2.1 will also bring the Zoom Animation app with all other compatible features.
Another community moderator confirmed that the Galaxy Note 9 will get the Pro Video Mode feature, won’t be available for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ due to hardware limitations.
May 21, 2020:
The One UI 2.1 update for the Galaxy S9, S9+, and Galaxy Note 9 will not bring the Bixby Routines, confirmed South Korean Moderator. The reason is very obvious, these devices are old and Bixby Routines won’t support the configuration.
May 5, 2020:
After confirming the One UI 2.1 update for the Galaxy Note 9, the company has now confirmed that the One UI 2.1 is also coming to the Galaxy S9 series. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will get the stable One UI 2.1 update in June 2020.
In addition, the company has already started testing the major update for the Galaxy S9 series and Galaxy Note 9.

Samsung Korean community manager has now confirmed that the stable One UI 2.1 update is coming in June 2020. Although, you can get this early at the end of May.
The community manager said:
“Note9 OneUI 2.1 SW is expected to be released in June. This is because we are doing our best, but we need physical time to apply OneUI2.1 to Note9. As many members and others have said, if you wait with a little time, we will prepare well and try to deliver it as soon as possible.”
April 24, 2020:
Yesterday, we reported that Samsung Germany confirmed that the One UI 2.1 update won’t come to the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 series.
Today, the Samsung Korean community moderator said the One UI 2.1 update for the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 series is currently under development. He also adds, “along with Korea, the One UI 2.1 update is under development for the US and European users.
Here’s the translated response from the manager:
“I have to share the status quo with various speculative comments so I don’t think there will be unnecessary feelings of customers. Note9 / S9 series OneUI2.1 support is being reviewed in Korea as well as the Americas / Europe and is under development.
Currently, I am preparing really hard within the maximum working hours set by the country. You will be able to catch the Test build soon, so I hope you can wait a little longer.”
This is getting very confusing for the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 users, because of moderators and support team manager in different countries are giving opposing statements.
Until now, you can’t say the Galaxy Note 9 and S9 series will get the One UI 2.1 update or not.
