As per the latest report, the South Korean sale of new foldable smartphones by Samsung, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 could be as high as one million units this weekend, as the industry executives, and the major tech giant strives to glorify the folding segment.

As per the officials in the communications industry, the third generation of the Galaxy Z series is expected to surpass the 1 million sales milestone in about a month after its launch on August 27.

Such sales speed is similar to that of the Glass Note 10 and the Galaxy S8 which is the fastest to raise the 1 million trademark in South Korea.

The pre-orders for new Galaxy Z smartphones have reached 920,000 units over a seven-day booking period here, and 270,000 of them are operational on the first day of the pre-launch period, the recording number of any Galaxy device.

Due to their high popularity, Samsung has even had to extend the start-up time of its flagship Galaxy Z smartphones. Of the two models, the Z Flip 3, a clamshell-type phone, sold twice as much as the Z Fold 3.

Both the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 smartphone, powered by a 5-nanometer application processor, have been introduced with lower price tags compared to their predecessors, as Samsung seeks to integrate a flexible smartphone segment and strengthen its availability in the premium market.
