1. Samsung removing ads from its apps:

Samsung will stop showing ads in pre-installed apps on its Galaxy smartphones. According to South Korean news agency Yonhap, the company has announced some of its apps such as Samsung Weather, Samsung Theme, and Samsung Pay would no longer show ads after an update.

T.M. Roh, Samsung’s mobile chief, announced that the company would remove ads from its native apps to improve user experience. The update will reach users later this year.

According to the reports, Samsung will make the update available through a new One UI update. However, there’s no confirmation if the change would be effective for all users, including the affordable Galaxy smartphones.

2. SmartThings Edge update:

Samsung has announced a new hub architecture, SmartThings Edge, for its smart home platform. According to Samsung, the update brings enhancements to speed, security, and reliability.

As part of SmartThings’ evolution to modernize and move away from the legacy Groovy platform, SmartThings developed a solution that would be able to deliver the developer experience to meet the current times. Developers are now able to code and build Device Drivers with Lua©, offering a more robust and simpler way for device manufacturers to integrate with the SmartThings platform.

This new platform architecture is an example of SmartThing’s commitment to investing in technologies that make it easier for our global developer network to build the next generation of smart home experiences that inspire meaningful moments.

3. Galaxy S22 Ultra:

Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra will reportedly feature a similar camera setup as the Galaxy S21 Ultra. It is rumored to have two 10MP telephoto cameras, just like its predecessor. From them, one will be a periscope lens with 10x zoom, while the other is expected to be a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom.

On the other hand, the Galaxy S22 and S22+ are likely to come equipped with an upgraded 50MP main sensor. They are said to feature the same 10MP front camera as their predecessors.

4. Galaxy Watch 4 software update:

Samsung is now rolling out the very first software update for its brand-new Wear OS-powered wearables, Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

According to the official changelog, the latest update improves device stability, fixes bugs, adds new or enhances existing features, and improves performance. The software version of this update is R870XXU1BUH5 and the size is 290.52MB.

These two new smartwatches run a new version of Wear OS, co-developed by Samsung and Google.
