Software development tool Docker gets support for Apple’s M1

Docker today released a new version of Docker Desktop, which officially supports Mac computers with Apple’s M1 chip. Docker officially stated that the M1 Mac version of Docker Desktop is more efficient and runs quieter.

Developers can perform rapid coding and testing just like other versions, and maintain the consistency of development and production environments. Developers can also build and run ARM-based end-to-end to ARM-based cloud services on Docker Desktop on M1 Mac.

Docker is an open-source application container engine that allows developers to package their applications and dependent packages into a lightweight, portable container. The containers use the sandbox mechanism completely and are not mutually exclusive.

There will be no interface (an app similar to iPhone), and more importantly, the container performance overhead is extremely low. In December last year, Docker officially stated that it would launch a preview version of Docker Desktop for M1.
