Some Apple Watches are unable to record GPS data after updating to WatchOS 7

According to a report, some Apple Watch users reported that their GPS data was lost after updating to watchOS 7. Only the starting point is recorded while recording an exercise.

The problem is reported by some users in Apple’s support community. By looking at the number of posts the problem does not seem big and only affects a small number of people, but the problem does exist for some users.

Some of the users reported that while using Apple Watch without iPhone to record exercise, there is no GPS route data recorded and only the starting point is recorded. After communicating with Apple’s support department, they suggested to make some changes in the privacy settings, but the problem still exists.

The issue is reported in Apple Watch Series 3, 4, and 5 watches that support watchOS 7. Some of the users have solved this problem by unpairing and re-pairing the watch, but other users are still stuck with the problem. Although Apple did not say anything related to the issue, we hope that Apple will fix the issue in the upcoming update.
