WhatsApp CEO calls it Apple’s strategic interest to make everyone use iPhones over Android

It has been quite a few days for the Apple and Facebook controversy that was the result of Apple’s new privacy policies. These companies have come into open war against each other criticizing one another.

It seems that this dispute is still not over shows in the recent interview of the WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart. Speaking on the ‘Big Technology Podcast’, Will doesn’t seem happy with the iPhone maker pointing out its monopolistic privacy policies.

Recently, Apple has rolled out its new privacy policies which don’t favor Facebook, based on this, Will said that the company does not want people to use Android phones and wants them to completely switch to Apple iPhones.

In his thinking, most people use iPhone in the country like the US and the iMessage work fine if everyone has iPhone. He calls it the strategic interest of Apple to make a large amount of people to use iPhone rather than Android.

Comparing the WhatsApp from iMessage, Will says that we compete with Apple in most of the regions including the US where most of the use iMessage. He himself uses an Android phone and have also used iPhone and iPad for a long time.

According to the new privacy label of Apple, both the Facebook and WhatsApp collects a lot of data as compared to the other messaging services. Facebook itself has a 65 different labels that include party advertising, product personalization, app functionality, and many others, while WhatsApp has 16 labels.
