OnePlus, OPPO facing smartphones ban in Germany after patent dispute with Nokia

According to the information, the lawsuit started with Nokia’s claim that the Oppo/OnePlus phone infringed Nokia’s 5G patent.

This recent incident that happened in Germany shows that Nokia is claiming that Oppo and OnePlus have been using patented 5G technology in their smartphones for years. Since neither company paid for the patent, Nokia tried to argue in court that the sale should be banned until the problem was resolved. Almost all Chinese smartphone makers sued Nokia over their 5G patents.

After taking victory from the German court both the firm’s Oppo and OnePlus will have to pay royalties to Nokia in order to legally sell their phones in Germany. But that doesn’t address the question of what to do with telemarketing right now.

“Court disputes are not limited to Germany, with other European countries soon to be banned.” Yes! This fight is not limited to Germany, Oppo and OnePlus are forced to stop selling across Europe, and they could be in serious trouble.

This is not the end! Nokia is expanding an ongoing patent dispute against a subsidiary of BBK Electronics. If this continues, other smartphone brands will also encounter a similar scenario and make them in trouble. For this, all OEMs will have to take a tough decision to face such a situation.

At the moment, we don’t know when will this fight is come to an end but soon as possible other smartphone makers especially Chinese brands find a better solution to make their presence once again.
