What do you think about OnePlus’s update policy?
Talking about the OnePlus’s software update policy, the company offers three major Android upgrades and software updates for up to four years of patches for its flagship smartphones. While the mid-range OnePlus Nord series offers two upgrades and three years of patches. Similarly, the budget Nord N models offer two years of updates and patches.
Furthermore, OnePlus categorizes software support based on the class of device you have. For instance, the OnePlus flagship phones like the OnePlus 8 series, the OnePlus 9 series, and the OnePlus 10 Pro get security updates every 3 to 4 years. And for the OnePlus 10 Pro, which launched with Android 12, this means we will see Android 13, Android 14, and Android 15.
Software updates are very important for all smartphones as it protects the device from bugs and viruses. Users also want their equipment to be bug-free, and all OEMs ensure that their products are up-to-date, at least in terms of software.
And with every year’s changes, OnePlus also make some changes in its software update approach. Although, the Chinese tech giant is not at the top but not behind as we think. In the recent development, OnePlus has done a great job with the Android 13 (OxygenOS 13) update.
