    Beta 4: Fixing Bugs Before the Big Release

    The third beta last week focused on fixing bugs and making things run smoother. Beta 4, released today, seems to follow the same path. There’s not much time left for big changes since the public version is coming soon—likely in early April, alongside iOS 18.4. That’s just a few weeks away!

    So far, macOS 15.4 brings some cool stuff like:

    • A fresh look for Apple Mail with inbox sorting
    • Seven new emoji for your keyboard
    • Easy device pairing with Proximity Pairing
    • A timer for verification codes in the Passwords app
    • A sketch style for creating drawings in Image Playground
    • Plus a few smaller tweaks

    If anything new pops up in beta 4, we’ll let you know. To get this update, go to System Settings > General > Software Update on your Mac. If you don’t see it, tap the ‘i’ button and check that Beta Updates are on.

    Other Apple Updates: Vision Pro, Apple TV, and More

    Vision Pro gets the spotlight with visionOS 2.4. It’s adding Apple Intelligence features for the first time, plus a guest mode upgrade and a Spatial Gallery app. For Apple TV 4K, tvOS 18.4 spruces up the TV app with:

    No big news yet for watchOS 11.4 or HomePod 18.4, but they’ll likely get the usual bug fixes and speed boosts.

    With the public release nearing in early April, these beta 4 updates are mostly about making things stable. No huge surprises are expected today, but the good news is you won’t wait long to try them yourself—no developer account needed!

    iPhone 17 Air might come with a bigger 6.7-inch screen

    Apple’s upcoming “iPhone 17 Air” could surprise fans with a slightly larger screen than first thought. On a recent episode of the Recycle Bin podcast, tech insider Jon Prosser shared that the iPhone 17 Air will likely have a 6.7-inch display. This is a small jump from earlier rumors pointing to a 6.6-inch screen. Last year, screen expert Ross Young predicted a 6.55-inch display, which rounds up to 6.6 inches. Now, it’s unclear whether the size will land at 6.6 or 6.7 inches—both seem possible.

    Prosser also mentioned that the iPhone 17 Air could be super slim, measuring about 5.64mm thick. That’s not counting the back camera bump, though. Another trusted source, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, had suggested it might be even thinner at 5.5mm. The two numbers are close, so either could turn out to be right.

    Jon Prosser, who runs the YouTube channel Front Page Tech, is a familiar name in the tech world. He’s had some wins and losses with Apple leaks. For example, he nailed the AirTag’s look in 2020, way before its launch, and shared spot-on details about the iPad mini 6. But he missed the mark when he said the Apple Watch Series 7 would have flat sides—something that didn’t happen, though Apple might have toyed with the idea.

    Lately, Prosser has been busy dropping hints about Apple goodies. He’s teased possible designs for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Air, plus a rumor that iOS 19 might bring a fresh Camera app styled like visionOS. Fans won’t have to wait too long to find out. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 Air in September. For now, these details are just whispers, but they’re enough to get people excited about what’s next!

    Apple is reportedly developing a new 27-inch screen with mini-LED technology, which might hit the market by late 2025. This could be an upgrade from the Studio Display that Apple launched back in 2022. The existing model uses a 5K LED screen, but this new one would switch to mini-LED for better performance.

    According to display expert Ross Young, this screen will use mini-LEDs made by Epistar, with LG Display providing the panels. There was talk back in 2023 about Apple working on something called the Studio Display Pro, which would have had ProMotion technology, but that project seems to have been dropped. While Young once said Apple wasn’t planning another 27-inch screen, another well-known Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, insists that Apple is indeed planning to release a new display in 2025.

    Apple has already embraced mini-LED technology in its MacBook Pro, where it significantly improves the screen’s brightness, contrast, and color accuracy. The MacBook Pro’s display uses over 10,000 mini-LEDs, which help in displaying darker blacks, more detailed shadows, and brighter highlights.

    Adding to the buzz, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has also heard about this new 27-inch mini-LED display, though he thinks it might not arrive until 2026. This new screen could be a big step up for Apple’s display tech, offering users a much richer viewing experience.

    Now, with just one tap, you can download an entire season of your favorite show. It’s something that Android users have enjoyed for a while, and now, iPhone and iPad users can enjoy this convenience too. This is a big step up for all of us.

    Here’s how it works: when you’re looking at a show’s page, you’ll see this new button right next to where you share the show. Just tap it, and all episodes from that season will begin downloading without you having to do anything more. No more downloading each episode one by one! If you want to check what’s downloading or manage which episodes you have, just go to the Downloads area in the My Netflix section.

    This update comes after Netflix raised its prices a bit, but it seems like they’re giving back with this handy new feature. Make sure to update your Netflix app from the App Store to enjoy this new way of watching. Happy streaming!

    New updates coming to iPhone screen recording

    The iPhone’s screen recording tool is about to get even better with three cool new features. It’s great for making quick videos of your screen, like when you’re showing someone how to do something on their phone. I talk about these updates in my latest “iPhone Secrets” episode.

    What Does Screen Recording Do Now?

    Screen recording on your iPhone lets you capture whatever is on your screen and save it in your Photos. You can also stream it live! To do more, just hold down the Screen Record button in the Control Center. This lets you turn on your microphone or choose where to send your live video, like to Zoom or Instagram.

    What’s New?

    • Stereo Sound Recording: Right now, when you record your screen, the sound is only in one channel (mono). But soon, you’ll be able to record in stereo using the iPhone’s multiple microphones for a richer sound experience.
    • HDR Screen Capture: Currently, if you record your screen while watching high-quality (HDR) video, it all goes back to standard quality (SDR). In the next update, you’ll keep the high quality, making your recordings look just as good as what you’re watching.
    • Live Camera Overlay: Imagine recording your screen and adding a live video of yourself in a small window. This is coming soon! It’s like having a mini TV of you in the corner of your screen recording, perfect for tutorials or explaining things hands-free.

    Here’s what the new screen recording menu might look like, with a camera icon next to the microphone icon, allowing you to turn your camera on while recording.

    These changes might not excite everyone, but for people who use screen recording a lot, they’re big improvements. Especially the camera overlay, which can make your videos much more engaging.
