    If you’re a T-Mobile customer and you don’t want to use Starlink, you can turn it off easily. Go to your iPhone’s Settings, then Cellular, find your carrier and switch off Satellite. Apple has also shared some info on how iPhones work with satellite services provided by carriers. This document explains how these services differ from Apple’s satellite network.

    To use these carrier satellite services, you’ll need:

    • An iPhone 14, 15, or 16
    • The newest iOS update
    • A compatible carrier

    When your iPhone uses these services, you’ll see “SAT” in the status bar. Remember, there might be extra charges or data limits, so check with your carrier for details.

    Starlink can provide internet like other companies such as Spectrum or Xfinity, for homes, on the go, or even on boats and planes. But with T-Mobile, it’s currently limited to sending texts when you’re out of regular network range. This is in beta, and you need to sign up on T-Mobile’s site to use it.

    Right now, the focus is on making the basic M5 chip, not the more powerful versions like the M5 Pro, M5 Max, or M5 Ultra. The companies involved are also building new facilities to help produce these higher-end models later.

    The M5 chip is expected to have a better design based on ARM technology and is being made using TSMC’s advanced 3-nanometer method. Apple chose not to use an even newer 2-nanometer process, likely to keep costs down. However, the more advanced M5 versions will still be a big step up from the current M4 chips, thanks to a special stacking technique called System on Integrated Chip (SoIC).

    This stacking method layers the chips on top of each other, which helps manage heat better and reduces power loss compared to flat designs. Apple is also teaming up with TSMC on a new version of this stacking that uses a mix of materials, including carbon fiber, for even better results.

You’ll be able to use Apple Invites right from iCloud.com/invites, and there’s likely going to be an app for your iPhone and other devices too.

    Make digital invitations for parties, graduations, baby showers, and more. Keep track of who’s coming, share photos, and send invites easily through email or text. If you’re an iCloud+ subscriber, you’ll have access to all of Apple Invites without any extra fees, no ads, and you can create as many events as you like.

    Apple Invites will work hand-in-hand with other Apple services like Apple Music, Apple Maps, and Photos. According to tech journalist Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, we might hear more about Apple Invites very soon, possibly this week.

    Microsoft’s Recall, however, goes a bit further but with some restrictions. Here’s how it operates:

    • The recall only activates after you hit “Send”.
    • It only works if both you and the person you’re emailing use Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Exchange accounts within the same company.
    • If you’re sending to or from personal email services like Hotmail, Gmail, or live.com, you won’t be able to use this feature.

    This means you can retract an email well beyond the initial send buffer, but only if everyone involved uses Microsoft professional accounts within the same organization. It’s perfect for workplace communications where you might need to correct a message. Currently, Recall for Outlook on Mac is in its testing phase but will soon be available to all users.

    I’ve been using Fitness+ for a couple of years now. It all started in early 2021 when I wanted to get back into shape. I began with simple 5-minute workouts, aiming for one each day. Over time, I was able to do longer sessions and explore different types of exercises like walking, running, strength training, and yoga. Fitness+ offers a wide range of workouts and instructors, making it easy to find something that suits you.

    Apple then started creating workout sessions focused on specific artists. Instead of a mix of songs, you get to work out to the tracks of one artist.     The court believes Apple hasn’t shown it would be badly hurt without this pause, nor has it clearly stated why it needs to be more involved or what new information it could add. The judge also feels that there’s no clear error in the first decision to keep Apple out of the lawsuit. Plus, it’s important to keep moving to stop Google from continuing these illegal actions.

    The court’s ruling pointed out that this case has been going on for over four years now, and any delay would be significant. Moreover, the court found that Google broke the law by making deals with companies like Apple to keep its monopoly in search and ad markets. Allowing Apple’s request for a pause would just let this illegal activity go on, which isn’t good for the public.

    Last year, Google was found guilty of these antitrust violations, with its deal with Apple being a key issue. Google gives Apple billions yearly to be the default search in Safari, and this was deemed illegal. The U.S. government wants to stop Google from making such deals with Apple and others. If Google can’t continue these agreements, Apple could lose billions, yet would still need to offer Google as a search option.

    Google might also face tougher penalties like selling Chrome or separating Android from services like Google Search and the Google Play Store. Apple worries that Google will focus on protecting these assets over their search deal, which is why Apple wants to intervene.

    • Family: At $26.95 a month, you get 200GB of iCloud+ storage, and you can share everything with your family.
    • Premier: For $37.95 monthly, this gives you Apple Fitness+, Apple News+, and a big 2TB of iCloud+ storage.

    These options work well, but I think there’s a chance to do something even better by adding a tier for students.

    Why Students?

    Apple already offers a student discount for Apple Music, which is usually $10.99 but drops to $5.99 for students. Plus, students get Apple TV+ for free as long as they keep the student subscription. This shows Apple knows how to attract students with deals.

    The Idea: Apple One for Students

    We could imagine an Apple One Student plan. It would be like the Individual plan but cheaper. Students could enjoy iCloud+ for their files and photos, and Apple Arcade for some fun gaming, in addition to the music and TV they already get with their student perks.

    If we look at the 45% discount on Apple Music for students, an Apple One Student plan might be around $10.95 a month. This would be a great way for Apple to get more young users interested in their services.

    After students finish school or after five years (whichever comes first), they might keep using Apple One because they’re already used to the benefits. This could be a win-win situation for both Apple and the students.

    In summary, while Apple One is already a solid choice for many, adding a student tier could make it even better, helping Apple grow its user base among younger people while giving students great value for money.
