Apple competes with Microsoft Xbox, Sony Playstation, and Nintendo for the game market: Report

Apple disclosed in a regulatory document that the company’s products have become competitors of Sony Playstation, Microsoft Xbox, and Nintendo in the gaming field.

Before, Apple only claimed that its product’s competitor in the smartphone field is Google Android, and its competitor in the PC field is Microsoft Windows.

Moreover, in the antitrust lawsuit involving Epic Games earlier this year, Apple’s competitors were an important concept. Apple claimed in court that it does not have a monopoly position because the App Store faces fierce competition in the gaming field.

In the end, the court ruled that Apple has no monopoly in the field of mobile games. At the time, Apple did not list the gaming console as a competitor in the filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

In terms of product design, Apple is also increasingly catering to the needs of gamers. In September, Apple released the iPhone 13 Pro with a high refresh rate display. The high refresh rate display is very popular with gamers.

According to data, the total sales of Apple’s App Store in 2020 will be $64 billion. The Wall Street Journal published an article earlier this month that Apple’s gaming business has higher profits than companies such as Microsoft, Nintendo, Activision Blizzard, and Sony.
