CES 2021: Intel shows its Alder Lake chips to challenge Apple’s M1 CPUs later this year

Intel in the CES 2021 showed off its next-generation Alder Lake chips that are designed for desktop and mobile processing. These new chips are expected to come by the second-half of 2021. Built on a 10nm SuperFin process, these new SOCs will combine both power efficiency and high performance.

These upcoming 12th Generation of Alder Lake chips will feature a new and enhanced version of 10nm SuperFin design along with the combination of high power cores. With this next-generation chip, Intel is looking to compete along with Apple’s M1 processors that are already introduced in November last year.

The Alder Lake chips are Intel’s closest product to the ARM-based chips that are built just like the M1 Silicon chips. However, till we see Intel’s upcoming chips in the market Apple may have plans for its next Silicon chips that could be M2.

Also, it remains to be seen if Apple continues to use Intel processors in its Macs or it will fully jump to its self made CPUs for the future Macs. We’ll also see what the Alder Lake chips will offer once they come in the market and at what price could it be available as compared to the Apple Silicon chips.
