This is not the first time that Intel and MediaTek have cooperated. In 2019, MediaTek announced that it would work with Intel to introduce its 5G modem into the personal computer market. Based on the cooperation between the two parties, MediaTek and Intel will deploy 5G solutions in key consumer and commercial notebook computer markets.

Dell and HP are expected to become the first wave of OEMs to adopt the 5G solution. The first batch of terminal products is expected to be launched in early 2021.
