HTC goes official VR glasses VIVE Flow with independent computing power

HTC held a new HTC VIVE product experience conference in Beijing and released the immersive glasses HTC VIVE Flow. It adopts a foldable design, has independent computing capabilities, supports spatial positioning functions. In terms of appearance, HTC VIVE Flow adopts a double hinge structure, and the temples can be folded away.

Moreover, the face cushion is designed with a magnetic suction type, which supports handwashing with water and detergent, and the cushion can be replaced independently when sharing equipment. It supports control via Bluetooth connection with Android smartphones.

The official said that it currently supports a variety of mobile phones from brands such as Xiaomi and OPPO, but does not currently support iOS devices. The weight of VIVE Flow is 189g, and the built-in cooling system ensures that the eyes are dry. The official claim is that compared with VIVE Focus, it has improved satisfaction for all ages.

Furthermore,  HTC VIVE Flow adopts a tracking method from the inside to the outside, with a resolution of 3.2K for both eyes, a 75Hz refresh rate, a 100-degree field of view, and a six-degree-of-freedom head tracking, and a myopia adjustment of up to 600 degrees.

HTC VIVE Flow supports the eye-tracking module developed by Qixin Yiwei, supports blue light filtering function, built-in speaker supports 3D spatial audio function, dual-radio microphones can eliminate echo and perform noise reduction processing, and support the connection of Bluetooth headsets.

In terms of functions, HTC VIVE Flow supports functions such as browsing the web, watching videos, games, and independent applications. It supports TRIPP, Pottery VR, and supports Android smartphone screen projection. The official said that it will support about 100 VR content this year.

At this press conference, HTC announced that it will cooperate with China Telecom to launch the first customized version of HTC VIVE Flow China Telecom. Its VIVEPORT membership subscription plan has also launched the “Unlimited Membership Lightweight Edition”, which can download and experience unlimited VR content, including video, leisure, art, games, education, and applications. The official announced that the VR content will continue to be updated.

Besides,  HTC VIVE Flow is priced at 3888 yuan, the eye-tracking module is priced at 1899 yuan, and the VIVEPORT subscription plan is priced at 28 yuan per month. HTC VIVE Flow will officially go on sale at 20 o’clock on October 31st.
