Huawei working on semiconductors and graphene field-effect transistor technology, reveals a new patent

Earlier, Huawei has published Patent Wall on the company’s official website. It issued 729 patents, which are reserved for a variety of devices, including 5G, Wi-Fi, systems operating systems, cameras, smart cars, and future technologies.

Still, the company is constantly adding new patents for various devices and technologies. On March 30, Huawei released a new patent for a graphene field-effect transistor with the release number CN110323266B in China.

The patent document describes that graphene field-effect transistors belong to semicircular technologies. This will help to irritate the output resistance of the device so as to increase the switching ratio for better radiofrequency.

The graphene field-effect transistor consisted of three-terminal or electrodes:

  • A primary and secondary gate electrode that acts as the controller
  • The first and second gate dielectric layer
  • Source or channel layer and drain electrodes

Moreover, the source layer components include AB stacked double-layer graphene or AB stacked multi-layer graphene, then the primary and secondary gate electrodes placed on the opposite side face of that layer.

The first gate electrode has a multiplicity to adjust the direction of the first sub-electrodes and the first connecting sub-electrodes and to extend the direction of the first sub-electrodes. The first and second sub-electrodes are used perpendicular to the electric field at the channel level.

The distance between the source electrode and the drain electrode exceeds the projections of the first connecting sub-electrode, and the channel level on the substrate does not overlap.

To be mentioned, semiconductors are employed in the manufacture of various kinds of electronic devices, including diodes, transistors, and integrated circuits. Such devices have found in wide application because of their compactness, reliability, power efficiency, and low cost.

Aside from this, Huawei has recently registered a new Car key trademark which could bring new functionality for the smart cars. At the same time, the company has published a new patent for the navigation method. This innovation will help to find car parking spaces.
