NASA announced the delay of the moon landing plan to 2025

NASA announced that it will postpone the target date for human return to the moon. It now plans to return to the moon in 2025 instead of 2024 as originally planned.

Moreover, NASA attributed the delay to the lawsuit initiated by Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin over the lunar lander contract, the scope adjustment of some NASA projects, and the new crown pneumonia pandemic.

Furthermore, NASA said that the lawsuit initiated by Blue Origin was an important reason for the agency to postpone the moon landing plan to 2025 because the lawsuit prevented NASA and SpaceX from cooperating on the lunar lander project.

“We lost nearly 7 months in this lawsuit, which happens to delay the first return to the moon, probably not earlier than 2025.” NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said.
