WeChat 8.0.15 launched a “deep cleaning” function

WeChat

When it comes to the app that eats the most memory in mobile phones, WeChat always comes first. Don’t look at the usual inconspicuousness, but every time the system is cleaned up, it can be ranked at the top of the list, which also shows the strength of the product.

As far as possible, the software has a built-in cleaning function, but it always does not match its resource usage. Obviously occupying a few gigabytes, the report says that there are only one or two hundred megabytes, and no one wants to believe it.

However, recently WeChat 8.0.15 introduced a “deep cleaning” function, which solves this problem to a certain extent. Steps to follow to use the function

  •  Open WeChat and enter “WeChat Repair Tool” in the search bar to enter the WeChat repair page.
  • Check the “Deep Cleaning” option at the bottom.
  •  Next enter “Me→Settings→General→WeChat Storage Space”, the “Cache” column here is the current cleanable space-534.4MB.
  • Click the “Clean up” button next to it. After a few seconds, the work is over and WeChat restarts automatically.
  • Finally, comparing the space occupancy table before and after cleaning, the effect is still quiet.

This cleaning function of WeChat is only limited to the cache. After cleaning, the voice and chat records can still be accessed normally. To put it bluntly, some temporary files that are usually run are cleaned up.

WeChatOf course, the shortcomings are also obvious, that is, this method of clearing only cached files and not moving files can not last long. When you use it normally for a period of time, it will come back to life.

So if your WeChat really occupies a lot of space, it is best to combine the OS’s own cleanup function to delete some long-term pictures, videos, and voice records generally, the system-level cleanup module has this function.
