One UI 4.1: How to enable Always On Display on Galaxy S22 smartphones

Always On Display (AOD) is an extremely well-known feature nowadays and almost every user of Galaxy devices is aware of this feature because it is absolutely s useful feature. But sadly this feature is limited to selected devices including Galaxy S22 series.

The latest offering by Korean Tech giant Samsung Galaxy S22 series is currently the latest offering by the Korean tech giant. The devices came pre-installed with an Android 12 based One UI 4.1 software system, which adds some notable tweaks to all of those Samsung’s features, including AOD.

Always On Display

Samsung’s Always On Display allows users to view time, date, notifications, missed calls, battery level, music details, and other information directly on the screen without turning it on.

Additionally, the company also offers a variety of clock designs, colors, and wallpapers to Galaxy S22 One UI 4.1 users. It even lets you play music, select wallpapers from the gallery, check schedules and alarms, pin text and images, and many more.

How to enable AOD:

  • Open your phone’s Settings.
  • Enter Lock screen.
  • Tap Always On Display.
  • Finally, turn the toggle on to enable the feature.

How to use AOD:

After enabling AOD, set the following options:

  • Choose when to show a clock and notifications on the screen when your
    the device is not in use.
  • Clock style: Change the style and color options for the clock on the Lock screen and Always-on Display.
  • Show music information: Show music details when the FaceWidgets music controller is in use.
  • Screen orientation: Display the AOD in portrait or landscape mode.
  • Auto brightness: Automatically adjust the brightness of Always On Display.
  • About Always On Display: View the current software version and license information.

 How to check notifications:

When you receive messages, missed calls, or app notifications, notification icons will appear on the Always-On display. Double-tap the notification icon to view the notification.

How to deactivate AOD:

  • Go to the Settings of your smartphone.
  • Enter Lock screen.
  • Tap Always On Display.
  • Turn the toggle on to disable the feature.
