Xiaomi MIUI 12.5 Tip: Enable Floating Window in Xiaomi smartphones

MIUI Floating Window

Xiaomi’s MIUI is one of the most widely used custom UX among smartphone users. Over the years, MIUI brought amazing features and functions to the Mi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones.

Among those features, one is a floating window. In MIUI 11 we could see how we can split the screen of our mobile. Whereas, this feature has been improved with the release of MIUI 12 last year. This now allows us to use floating windows.

Floating windows can be seen as a unique version of multi-window. Instead of dedicating its entire screen to two separate applications, the floating window does exactly what it sounds like.

It treats an application like the Windows desktop operating system, so you can have multiple applications in small, large windows spread across the screen. This feature also allows users to quickly reply to a conversation without opening the app.

A floating window can be easily accessed by long-pressing the notification and swiping to pull it down, a floating window will pop up. But do you know how to use the floating window feature in Xiaomi smartphones running MIUI 12? If not, then check the steps given below.

How to activate Floating Window:

  • Open multitasking by sliding your finger from the bottom to the center of the screen.
  • Find an option called Floating Window and tap on it.
  • Once done, a list of applications will appear, choose your favorites or most used, and you are done.
