Android 12: Everything you need to know – Eligible devices, features, latest news, and release date

On September 8, 2020, Google announced the eleventh major generation of the Android operating system. The Android 11 comes with several system improvements and new features such as conversation bubbles, better privacy controls, notification history, one-time permissions for apps, and much more.

Following the announcement, Google started delivering the stable Android 11 update for the Pixel smartphones. Apart from the Google Pixels, several OEM’s including Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, and more have begun beta testing with their custom skins.

It is worth mentioning that several smartphone makers are still sending the Android 11 update to their devices. Meanwhile, we’re already started hearing about the next version of the Android operating system, Android 12. And, It is expected that Google will release the first developers’ preview of Android 12 in later February or March this year.

So, it’s a good time that we start the discussion about this upcoming Android version and keep ourselves up to date with its latest news, beta rollouts, announcements, and more.

The development roadmap of Android 12 is likely to remain the same as Android 11 but we’ll have to wait for official confirmation.

New leaked Android 12 features: [April 15, 2021]

In early February 2021, the US tech giant released the first preview version of Android 12 developers, giving us a glimpse of the next iteration of Android before its public release. The new leak suggests a set of new features of the Android 12including Native Scrolling Screenshot, New Quick Settings buttons, Major optimizations for tablet, Attractive design changes, and so on. Android 12 launch date:

Due to the COVID-19, Google has changed its plans and delay the testing as well as beta rollouts. In 2021, Google may be able to keep up with the schedule and deliver the Android 12 in early Q3 2021.
