In 2020, Google’s Android 11 launch was delayed multiple times, Google even has to cancel the annual Google I/O event due to the pandemic. After the stoppages, on September 8, 2020, Google finally released the eleventh major version of the Android operating system, Android 11. The latest Android comes with a number of new features, improved security features, and a better overall user experience.
Following the launch, Google rolled out stable Android 11 for Google Pixel smartphones. Aside from Pixel devices, major smartphone makers – Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, and more started to beta testing with their own custom software skins.
Most of these smartphone companies schedule to rollout stable Android 11 based software updates from December 2020 and this expansion will happen until the first half of 2021.
Android 11 has so much to offer and the improvements made in the system and the latest features from different OEMs keeping the users excited.
It’s a reality that other smartphone companies yet to send this major Android version to their device but the clock for the next Android version is already started, as we’re approaching the start of another Android project, Android 12.
According to the beta development roadmap of Android 11, Google likely to start the Android 12 development by late February or early March next year (2021).
So, it’s a good time that we start the discussion about this upcoming Android version and keep ourselves up to date with its latest news, beta rollouts, announcements and more.

Due to the COVID-19, Google has changed its plans and delay the testing as well as beta rollouts. In 2021, Google may be able to keep up with the schedule and deliver the Android 12 in early Q3 2021.
