Android 12 to bring new auto-rotate feature that works with selfie camera

Android 12

Like every year, Google will officially release the next version of Android OS that is the Android 12 in the second half of 2021. Moreover, the company may release the first developer’s preview of the latest version of Android later this month. Meanwhile, we’ve already encountered some of the expected features of Android 12.

According to the latest info, Google is working to solve a long-standing screen rotation problem that has bothered users. The upcoming Android 12 may have the ability to detect the direction of the face to automatically rotate the screen. Meanwhile, it may be exclusively available for Google Pixel phones and later the company may expand this functionality for other OEMs.

Currently, when the screen rotation mode is enabled, the phone uses the gravity sensor to automatically adjust the screen to facilitate automatic rotation. However, the auto-rotate function becomes very inconvenient while using the phone on the bed.

Aside from this, if you play games and stream videos with applications that only support horizontal screens, the device occasionally fails and the screen will rotate 180-degree sometimes. In this situation, users need to manually turn off the automatic screen rotation function.

Therefore, it is expected that this function may be implemented using the front camera of the smartphone. Furthermore, it is not an official confirmation because Google is yet to announce the Android 12 and its features officially. Stay tuned with us to get further information on this story.
