Oppo Find X2 and Find X2 Pro get Android 11 beta with ColorOS 7.2 [Download Now]

You can now test the Android 11 beta with ColorOS 7.2 on the Oppo Find X2 and Find X2 Pro. This is available for models CPH2023 and CPH2025.

Overview of OPPO Android 11 Preview Version for Developers:

Developed based on Android 11 Beta 1, OPPO Android 11 preview Version for Developers adopts the UI design style of ColorOS 7.2. This preview version is integrated with the latest Google Mobile Services (GMS). The stock Android functions that are the same as GMS will be removed from this version. Your phone storage will be formatted after you upgrade to this preview version. All your data (including music and images) will be erased. Therefore, back up your data before upgrade.

1). Backup method in ColorOS 7: Go to “Settings – Additional Settings – Back Up and Reset – Back Up & Restore – New Backup” to back up your data.

2). After the backup completes, the backup file is stored in the backup folder under the root directory of your phone storage. Copy this file to your personal computer or any other device for storage.

3. Upgrade to OPPO Android 11 Preview Version for Developers

• Obtain OPPO Android 11 preview version for developers from:

Find X2(CPH2023)
Find X2 Pro(CPH2025)

• Note: This upgrade package supports only OPPO Find X2 series (including the following models: CPH2023, and CPH2025) equipped with the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. Other models are not supported by this version.

• How to flash:
1). Download the upgrade firmware package of OPPO Android 11 preview version for developers, and copy the package to the root directory of your phone storage.
2). Power off your phone. Then press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button to enter Recovery mode. In Recovery mode, perform the operations according to on-screen prompts, select Install from storage, find the upgrade firmware package, and tap Install.
3). During the upgrade, DO NOT perform any operation on your phone. After the upgrade completes, a message will be displayed, indicating that the installation is successful. Then restart your phone. After the restart, your phone will run based on OPPO Android 11 preview version for developers.

4. About Versions and Risks

● About this version
This is a preview version of Android 11 for developers.

● Known issues
1). Making a video call using a test machine would fail and the other party’s image could not be displayed after you answer a video call. This can be addressed by restarting your phone.
2). Your phone would not detect a simulated 4-pole earphone jack and audio would play through the speaker.
3). Charging using the CDP charger would fail.

● This version is provided by OPPO and is available only for app developers for compatibility tests and early development. Please note that:
1). Compatibility and performance issues have occurred to all devices with this version installed and so this version is not recommended for average users, especially non-developer users.
2). Some apps may not run normally in this version. These apps include but are not limited to Google apps.
3). This preview version for Find X2 series can only be manually downloaded.
4). CPH2023 and CPH2025 each has an independent upgrade package. Do not mix them up.
5). After installing the Android 11 preview version for developers on your phone, all user data will be erased. Make sure your personal data has been backed up before the upgrade.
6). If you roll your version back from Android 11 to Android 10 (Android Q), all user data will be erased. Make sure your data has been backed up before the rollback.

6. Rollback to ColorOS 7

Obtain the OPPO ColorOS 7 ROM package from:

Find X2(CPH2023)
Find X2 Pro(CPH2025)

● How to roll back:

1). Download the Android Q firmware package and copy it to your phone storage. The package varies depending on different phone models. Find the corresponding packages for different models as follows:
–      CPH2023: CPH2023PU_11_OTA_0730_all_4b9m0wV9ioC8_roll-back-pu-findx2.ozip
–      CPH2025: CPH2023PU_11_OTA_0730_all_4b9m0wV9ioC8_roll-back-pu-findx2pro.ozip
2). Find the firm package in File Manager and tap it. You will be alerted of data erasion. Tap Next. You will then be prompted to back up data. Tap Next. Finally, confirm the rollback. You need to restart your phone after the rollback.

Note: Developers are welcome to download this version and adapt their apps to it. Normal users are advised not to download it because of the known issues.

Oppo will soon start the ColorOS 8/Android 11 beta program for Find X2 and X2 Pro

Google has released the first Android 11 Beta for its Pixel smartphones. Like last year, the Android 11 Beta Program will be extending to other Android smartphones. Google also confirmed that other devices will get access to the Android 11 beta in the coming weeks.

Well, Oppo didn’t wait for Google to make an announcement, the company confirmed via Twitter post that the Android 11 beta 1 is coming soon to the Oppo Find X2 series. Oppo was also there in the Android 10 Q Beta program last year.

The company may soon start the early adopters’ program for the ColorOS 8 based on Android 11 beta. We don’t have exact information about when Oppo is planning to start this Android 11 Beta 1 for the Oppo Find X2 devices.
