Apple iOS/iPadOS 15.1 update brings multiple improvements

iOS 15

Apple releases the iOS/iPadOS 15.1 (internal version number: 19B74). This is the first major version of the iOS 15 operating system released in September 2021. The update was released one month after iOS 15 was released.

Apple iOS 15.1 Changelog:

Simultaneous sharing:

  • Simultaneous sharing is a new way to share the synchronization experience. You can share content from the Apple Video App, Apple Music and other supported apps in the App Store during a FaceTime call.
  • Shared controls allow everyone to pause, play, rewind or fast forward.
  • Smart volume can automatically reduce the audio volume of movies, TV shows, or songs when a friend is talking.
  • Apple TV supports options that allow you to watch shared videos on the big screen while continuing FaceTime calls on your iPhone .
  • Screen sharing allows everyone in a FaceTime call to view photos, browse the web, or provide mutual assistance.

Camera

  • You can use iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max to shoot ProRes videos.
  • Added the setting to turn off automatic lens switching when shooting macro photos and videos on iPhone 13Pro and iPhone 13Pro Max.

Apple wallet

  • Supports COVID-19 vaccination card, which allows you to add and present verifiable vaccination information from your Apple wallet.

Translation

  • “Translation” App and system-wide translation support Mandarin Chinese (Taiwan, China).

Family

  • The new automation can be triggered based on the current readings of HomeKit-enabled humidity, air quality, or light brightness sensors.

Shortcut instructions

  • The new preset operation allows you to superimpose text on an image or GIF.

This update also fixes the following issues:

  • The “Photos” app may incorrectly report that the storage space is full when importing photos and videos.
  • The “Weather” app may not display the current temperature of “My Location”, or may incorrectly display the color of the animated background.
  • The audio playback of the App may be paused when the screen is locked.
  • “Wallet” may exit unexpectedly when using multiple vouchers through “Narration”.
  • An available wireless LAN may not be detected.
  • The battery algorithm on the iPhone12 model has been updated to better estimate the battery capacity over time.

  • It supports the recognition of text, phone numbers and addresses through the “Camera” App, so that you can perform operations on them (iPad with A12 Bionic and subsequent models).
  • Keyboard support allows you to directly insert the text in the “camera” into any text field (iPad with A12 Bionic and subsequent models).

iPadOS 15.1

Regarding the update, Apple said that using AirPods 3 requires an Apple device running iOS 15.1, iPadOS 15.1, watchOS 8.1, tvOS 15.1 or macOS Monterey.
