Update 2, December 22 (10:13 ET) ― ColorOS 12 public beta
ColorOS 12 public beta recruitment
The ColorOS 12 public beta recruitment is now open for the OnePlus 9R, the new system is based on Android 12 development.
1. Please make sure that the phone version has been upgraded to the basic version A.14 (How to check the version number: Settings> About phone> Version information> Version number).
2. Please click “Settings> Software Update> Settings button in the upper right corner> Upgrade early adopters> Upgrade public beta” on the phone, and then apply according to the prompts.
Update 1, November 30 (01:54 ET) ― Official ColorOS 12 release date
Official ColorOS 12 version is coming in December
OnePlus 9R will get the stable Android 12-based ColorOS 12 update in December.

Google officially released Android 12 for all smartphones in October 2021. OnePlus started Android 12 based ColorOS 12 beta recruitment for the OnePlus 9R 5G smartphone.
JOIN ONEPLUS ON TELEGRAM
As per the OnePlus community, applicants will have to submit a questionnaire for selection. Currently, the company has opened registration for the closed beta in China.

- The screening will be comprehensively considered based on the answers to the questionnaire and the performance of the community and other platforms.
Before Registration:
- Since this beta version is still in the development stage, there are some potential risks the stability of the system and the experience of the poor, the version may be some Bug, abnormal power consumption and other issues. If you pursue long-term stable use of mobile phones, please register carefully.
- Please be sure to back up your important personal data in advance before the upgrade, to avoid data loss caused by incompatibility or other circumstances after the upgrade.
- There are still many commonly used third-party applications that are not compatible with Android 12, such as Bank of China, personal income tax, and Kuaishou. After the upgrade, third-party applications may not work normally.
- The compatibility of third-party applications depends on the adaptation of each manufacturer to the Android 12 system. If you often and must use the third-party applications in the list, it is recommended to wait for the stable version.
