Oppo has announced the global version of ColorOS 13 based on Android 13. The new version of OPPO’s Android-based operating system has a so-called Aquamorphic design something like the OnePlus OxygenOS 13 design.

The company says the design was inspired by how water works in nature. It provides a concise and pleasant visual experience and a user-friendly interface. There are also many new features that OPPO has added to the OS.

ColorOS 13 (Android 13) comes with a new “theme palette” inspired by the changing color of light at sea level at sunrise and sunset. The company also introduced a new system font that improves the readability of system text. Apart from this, a card-style design has also been added.

Aquamorphic Effect

“Aquamorphic effects” are also part of user interface design. These are basically new system animations. Oppo uses a “quantum animation engine” with a new “behavior prediction”. Oppo has also added a new always-on display image called Homeland. These are “showcasing powerful scenes of nature.

ColorOS 13 also introduced the first “Dynamic Computing Engine”, OPPO’s system-level technology solution that provides a smoother and more stable system and enhances the user experience.

Dynamic Calculation Engine

According to Oppo, this engine brings two big improvements to the table. The first is to increase the battery life. Second, you can keep more apps open in the background. ColorOS 13’s always-on display can now show information about music and food delivery. It’s definitely inspired by Google’s At-a-Glance widget. But this isn’t a bad thing.

Some other features include the ability to manage the smart home screen. Large folders are noticeable, but I know most other folders well, but everything is optimized in that domain. Oppo also places great emphasis on improving the multi-user experience. The Multi-Screen Connect ColorOS 13 supports the seamless connection between smartphone and OPPO Pad Air and between smartphone and PC.

Android 13 inspires Privacy and Security Features

The company also mentioned the privacy and security features of Android 13. As some of you might know, Android 13 automatically deletes the clipboard history after a short period of time to prevent sensitive information from being exposed.

By now many of you must be wondering when is this update coming. Oppo says it plans to roll out ColorOS 13 to around 35 smartphone models globally by the end of the year. It includes 160 million users in more than 60 countries and territories. OPPO Find X5 and X5 Pro are available starting today. The rollout will continue for over 20 devices over the next year.
