Huawei introduced the Nova 8 series back in December 2020 in China which consists of two models that are Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro. Both of these packs many high-end features such as an OLED display, a Kirin 985 processor, and the latest EMUI 11.
According to the latest info (Via – Huawei Central), The company is now sending the first update to the Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro users. Along with December 2020 security patch, the update also brings optimizations for the camera, fingerprint scanner, and enhances the system stability.
The Nova 8 users can identify this latest firmware bearing EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.121 which is upgraded from version 11.0.0.116. While for the Nova 8 Pro the latest EMUI version is 11.0.0.118 which is updated from 11.0.0.115.

Other than these sort of optimizations, this update does not bring any other changes to the UI or any new feature to the devices. It is rolling out in batches so it may take some time to reach your device. Huawei Nova 8 users can download this update by following the simple steps given below.
How to update:
Download via Settings:
- Open Settings
- Click on the System & updates
- Open Software update
- Tap on Check for updates option
- If an update is available, click on Download and install
- After installation Reboot the device
Download via Support app:
- Open the Support app on your device
- Go to the Service tab
- Click on the update button
- Tap on Check for update option
- If an update is available, click on Download and install
- After installation Reboot the device
