Galaxy S9, S9+, and Note 8 getting the January 2020 security patch

Samsung is rolling out a new software update to the Galaxy S9, S9+, and Galaxy Note 8 devices. It brings the January 2020 security patch along with some improvements and few small fixes.

Software version:

  • Galaxy S9: G960FXXS7CTA1
  • Galaxy S9+: G965FXXS7CTA1
  • Galaxy Note 8: N950FXXS8DSL3

Changelog:

  • The security of your device has been improved.

Availability:

This update is rolling out to the Galaxy S9 series and Note 8. It is for Exynos variants. The Galaxy S9 series is scheduled to receive the One UI 2.0 and Android 10 update in January 2020.

How to check for the software updates?

If you want to download this update manually, just head into the device Settings then tap on Software update and go for the Download and install option.
