Starting this month, Xiaomi started rolling out the May 2023 security update for the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ 5G owners in Turkey and now the latest patch is available for the Global models. As per the input, the update brings some safety majors and improved protection for your Redmi phones.
Global owners of Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ 5G will be able to determine the May 2023 Android security update via the MIUI build version V18.104.22.168.SMOMIXM. Additionally, the enhancements and fixes of the current month’s firmware are included in a massive installation package of 4.3 Gigabytes.
Both the mentioned devices are the member of one family, that offers outstanding performance with various pro-grade software and hardware capabilities. Now, this latest firmware will help the owners to operate their handy gadgets more seamlessly, even without getting disturbed by the issues like lagging and all.
As per the changelog, the May 2023 firmware update aims to enhance the security and reliability of smartphones, in order to provide a seamless performance. Additionally, the patch also offers improved protection against dangerous threats, viruses, and other safety-related issues, just by improving the core mechanism.

How to update
To do so, open the Settings of your phone, tap on the About Phone option, and click on the System Update section. Here, press the MIUI version, and let the system fetch a new version for you, once done, hit the Download button and Install the update.
