6 Huawei devices announced for HarmonyOS beta in 8th batch

Huawei has announced the HarmonyOS 2.0 8th batch beta for 6 Huawei and Honor devices. At the same time, the company has started beta recruitment for these 6 devices that were launched years back and making its way towards the HarmonyOS operating system upgrade.

For your information, the 8th batch of HarmonyOS 2.0 closed beta includes models from both Huawei and Honor campaigns and runs EMUI version 9.1. Following the upgrade, the mobile users will get new features including a control panel, new animations, smooth user interface, service widgets, and other important aspects that bring simplicity to the interactions.

The announcement is something that the smartphone users have been waiting for but the rollout for the global models will increase it further if it happens anytime this year.

  • Huawei Nova 3i
  • Huawei Nova 2s
  • Huawei Maimang 9
  • Honor V9
  • Honor Play
  • Honor Note 10

Closed beta:

There are a total of 2000 slots that has been opened for the beta testing and the recruitment will remain active from September 28, 2021, to October 18, 2021. After this timeline, the company will review the applicants and push the beta build via OTA software updates.

120 million mark:

On September 23, 2021, Huawei announced to complete 120 million installations of HarmonyOS in devices. Surprisingly, the phone maker has installed around 1 million HarmonyOS updates in each since its launch on June 2, 2021. However, we could see a rapid number of growth and similar ramp target appearing and growing in the coming months.

Important Notes:

  • The current rollout/beta testing is limited to the Chinese models
  • Make sure that the phone has 10GB of internal storage otherwise the upgrade will fail
  • The phone must not ROOT
