Back on June 2, 2021, Huawei launched its new mobile operating system HarmonyOS 2 testing on Huawei devices in China and also announced a major rollout roadmap for over 100 Huawei devices, but here’s a question arising that when will this new operating system appeared in the global market.
Recently , Huawei has upgraded 141 devices with HarmonyOS 2.0 software update, This is a considerable promotion by Huawei for consumers. Even if the same software upgrade is not launched for the global market, consumers are still under Chinese territory. However, there’s more information has just appeared on global smartphones waiting for the HarmonyOS operating system, as it may happen in 2022.

Recently, the Romanian daily Adevarul published an interview with Derek Yu, president of Huawei Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Northern Canada, and Turkey CB, saying that Huawei may launch the HormonyOS operating system for global users in 2022.
Furthermore, he also mentioned that the running version of HarmonyOS is mainly launched in China and has more than 100 million users. The software provides a satisfying user experience, switching from Android to HormonyOS user experience to an overall performance improvement of 10%.
HarmonyOS:
HarmonyOS is a distributed operating system developed by Huawei that can run on multiple devices. In multi-Kernel design, the operating system selects the appropriate cores from the abstraction layer for devices with different resources.
HarmonyOS 2.0:
Huawei has designed the next-generation – HarmonyOS distributed operating system to provide seamless cross-device connection across all scenarios while bolstering privacy and security across the board. Its features feature include a new Home screen, service widgets, control panel, service center, smart folder, HarmonyOS Fonts, super device, Huawei Share, smart home, task center, and more.
HarmonyOS 3.0:
Moving on, at HDC 2021, Huawei launched the HarmonyOS 3.0 developer preview version for developers. However, the first preview beta will be tested in the first quarter of 2022. Thereafter, the Chinese technology manufacturer will conduct public testing of the software and provide it to consumers through different testing procedures.
However, Huawei may also bring the Hongmeng OS 3 version iteration to Huawei smartphone users worldwide in 2022, but it has not yet been officially confirmed.
