Most of the Huawei devices will be upgraded to HarmonyOS by the end of this year: Huawei Smart Car Chief

On June 02, Huawei launched its new operating system, HarmonyOS 2.0, with big hopes and wishes to make it a major part of its ecosystem. According to Huawei, this new operating system will become an important aspect of the company’s ecosystem in the near future.

At the China Automotive forum 2021, the president of Huawei Smart Car Solution BU, Wang Jun revealed that the company aims to install the HarmonyOS 2.0 on 200 million devices or more. Moreover, the new OS will also be opened to third-party devices and for that, the Chinese OEM has aimed for 100 million.

At the time of its launch, Huawei has already shared its plan to install the new HarmonyOS on more than 200 million Huawei devices by the end of this year. While the Chinese tech giant aims to upgrade over 300 million overall devices to HarmonyOS this year.

President Wang also stated that this new OS will be used in future smart car solutions and also in third-party smart products. The company has recently updated its plan to include more devices, it now aims for 360 million devices by the end of this year.

Further, a big aim for the coming next year where it plans to install the HarmonyOS in around 1.23 billion smart devices. Following its goal for this year, Huawei has also shared its plan to upgrade 100 old devices in 2021-22. It includes smartphones, tablets, and smart screens.
