January 2022 HarmonyOS security update has been released for the Huawei Mate X2 smartphone. The update comes with the HarmonyOS software version 2.0.0.222 in China.

As per the latest information, Huawei is planning to introduce a new 12GB of RAM and 1TB internal extra storage variant of Huawei Mate X2 Spring Festival special edition.

The latest January 2022 update mainly enhances the system security for Huawei Mate X2 by fixing several CVEs encountered in the different parts of the software system.

As it’s an initial rollout so it will take some days or weeks to get available for every users in the markets. So the users have to wait for some time to get the latest update.

January 2022 HarmonyOS security update details:

January 2022 HarmonyOS security patch fixes 4 CVEs in the framework, 10 CVEs in the system, and 5 CVEs in the application. Additionally, it also resolves the massive count of 111 CVEs found in the third-party libraries.

  • Open Settings
  • Tap on System & updates
  • Then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop up on your phone
  • Finally Download and install
    Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the My Huawei app. To do this, open the My Huawei app, tap on the update, then select Check for updates, and then download and install.
