Huawei’s May 2021 security update has now reached more devices after these mentioned smartphones have joined – Huawei Maimang 9, Enjoy Z, Enjoy 10 Plus, and Enjoy 10e. The latest security patch for the above-mentioned devices improves the overall security and brings system stability.

It fixes different levels of exploits and issues and also solves a privacy-related issue that was recorded in the last security patch that could have breached the security. So, these security patches play an important role in a device to protect them against threats.

The changelog of the update does not reveal much of what else the firmware carries. It’s just some sorts of necessary security improvements. Below you can check the version numbers of the adapting models:

  • Huawei Maimang 9 – EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.1.210
  • Huawei Enjoy Z – EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.1.214
  • Huawei Enjoy 10e – EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.187
  • Huawei Enjoy 10 Plus – EMUI version 10.1.0.189

It is important to note that the update is currently rolling out in batches so, it may take some time to reach your device. Also, the EMUI versions and the size of the update may vary. What about HarmonyOS upgrade?

Huawei is speeding up the process of delivering the HarmonyOS 2.0 to more of its devices. The Huawei Maimang 9 and Enjoy Z smartphones were part of the closed beta testing program that started on June 02.

As per the rollout plan, the Enjoy 10 Plus will be getting the new HM OS in the first half of 2022, while it could also be earlier looking at the current rollout status. The company has also announced the first stable release for its 18 topmost devices.

How to check for update?

Download via Settings:

Open Settings then click on System & updates. After opening a Software update, tap on Check for updates option. If the update is available to download then click Download and install. And after installation Reboot the device.

Download via Support app:

Open the Support app on your device and then go to the Service tab. Click on the Update button and then tap on Check for update option. If the update is available then click on Download and install. After installation Reboot the device.
